Basic Editing Techniques

Crop-

To change the size or aspect ratio of an image.  Most prints today come to us a 4x6 prints, but if YOU are going to do the printing  on YOUR printer, it’s more economical to change the size (crop) of the image to 4x5 OR 8x10.  Most programs have either a template for the page size, or a “drag” tool that shows a new size (and shape) to the image.  REMEMBER – 4x5 is just the same RATIO as 8x10!

Enhance-

This command automatically adjusts the color, contrast and many other variables to an optimum photo.  This can be called many things in different programs (“I’m feeling Lucky”, Autofix, Photo Doctor, etc.)
