Scanning for Survival - Insurance, Important Documents and Medical Information
Using your scanner can be valuable in many instances.
Stop and think of
the poor people in New Orleans and how they virtually have to
start from scratch. Think of what you would do should a distaster
strike!
SCAN EVERYTHING, PUT IT ON CD'S AND MAKE THAT PART OF YOUR SURVIVAL PLAN!
Every important
document you might need for insurance: Bills of Sale, Titles to your
cars, receipts for major purchases, etc should be sacnned and safely
stored in case you might ever need them!
Important
documents, leases, Powers of Attorney, Birth Certificates, etc. must be
scanned and stored securely should you ever need them!
All medical
information, recent EKG's and other medical documents, doctor's phone
numbers, etc should also be stored and secured!
In a recent class, someone made a
GREAT suggestion - not only can you save this survival information on a
CD (which only costs a nickel), but, for convenience, you might
want to store this data on either an inexpensive SD flash memory card
(about $15) that might fit in your wallet, OR you might want to store
the data on an inexpensive ($15) USB "Thurmb" drive that you can
attach to a lanyard and wear around your neck!
